How long does Botox last?

Botox lasts about three to four months, which is why the manufacturer's own schedule is treatments spaced at least 90 days apart.

Cleveland Clinic gives the average directly: the effects of Botox last about three to four months, and retreatment is recommended at that point. It also gives the outer edge — within three to six months after treatment the toxin wears off and the muscles regain movement. BOTOX Cosmetic's own materials describe a schedule of at least three treatments a year, spaced at least 90 days apart, and the prescribing information sets the minimum interval between treatments at three months.

How long does Botox last on the forehead?

The three-to-four-month average from Cleveland Clinic is not published per area, so the honest answer is that the forehead is inside that same band rather than on a schedule of its own. What IS published per area is the dose: the forehead lines area is labelled at 20 units.

BOTOX Cosmetic's labelled doses are 20 units in the frown lines, 24 units in the crow's feet lines and 20 units in the forehead lines — 64 units if all three are treated together.

How long does Botox last around the eyes?

Same answer, same reason. The crow's feet area carries the highest labelled dose of the three at 24 units, but none of the sources we will cite publishes a separate duration for it. Anyone quoting you a different number of months for the eye area specifically is going beyond what the manufacturer and Cleveland Clinic put in writing.

Why the second treatment sometimes feels different

What we are not going to tell you

We are not going to tell you how long yours will last, whether you should have it, or how many units you need. Those are questions for a licensed injector who has looked at your face. What we can do is print the published figures with their sources attached, so you can tell when a quote is outside them.

If you are working out what a course of it costs across a year, the pricing is on its own page: what Botox costs, by the unit and by the area.
